A Number of Injured as Rough Air Hits A Delta Airlines Plane Landing at Sydney

Several people were hurt following a Delta Airlines aircraft from Los Angeles to Sydney encountered significant turbulence on Friday morning.

Delta Flight 41 "experienced a brief period of turbulence" as it landed at Sydney Airport, an airline spokesperson stated. Four flight attendants were injured.

The New South Wales Ambulance Service said they assessed five individuals, and transferred three of them to hospital with minor injuries that such as back pain and migraines. The injured ranged from their 30s to 70s.

The event represents the most recent case of commercial jets being hit by severe turbulence, with aviation specialists saying that shifting climate patterns is a significant contributor.

On board were nearly 250 travelers and fifteen staff members on the wide-body jet, the official noted, stating that the plane landed "safely and normally" at Sydney Airport at 06:48 local time on the day in question.

Emergency responders said they were alerted just three minutes ahead of the plane landed, and emergency vehicles were ready and waiting at the airport.
